MAGDA BAROUTA

Magda Barouta was born in Trikala, where she wrote her first poems at the age of 16. She studied English Language and Literature at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. During her studies, exposure to multiple genres and writers and participation in creative projects further fuelled her passion for literature and creative writing. She was an exhibition participant in the “Experimental Narratives” International Symposium organized by the department’s Laboratory of Narrative Research in 2019, she wrote and acted in “Blurred Mirror,” a short film inspired by Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice for the course “Realism and the 19th c. Novel,” and her short play “Generation P” appears in the current issue of the online literary magazine Echoes. Her diploma thesis focused on plays by British dramatist Mark Ravenhill. She wishes to continue both her academic and creative exploration of literature in the coming years.
