Eleni (–Amaryllis) Karra grew up in Paris, France.

She studied Lettres Modernes at Jussieu University (Paris 7), English Literature at Censier University, and obtained a bachelor’s degree in French Literature from Athens University.

Since 1990, she works as a journalist, translator and books critic for Greek newspapers and magazines.
