Maria Tsatsou born 1948 in Athens was educated at the Arsakeio school of Palio Psichico, the University of Athens (Faculty of Philosophy) and at Bikbeck College, London(M.Sc. in Politics with Sociology). She has written 3 collections of poetry: TOMES (1967), LITHOCHTISTA (Domos, 1979), THE SIGNS (Agra, 1985). Maria Tsatsou has worked as a teacher in the secondary education, in the newspaper "KATHIMERINI" and has collaborated with the political magazine " ANTI".  Maria Tsatsou is an activist for Animal Rights.
