ELISAVET ARSENIOU (M.Phil., Ph.D. in Modern Greek Literature, The University of Birmingham) is a Associate Professor of Modern Greek in the Department of Greek Literature of the University of Thrace, Greece. She is the writer of “Νοσταλγοί και Πλαστουργοί: Πρόσωπα, Κείμενα και Κινήματα στην Μεταπολεμική Λογοτεχνία” (Aspirants and Makers: Journals, Texts and Movements in Postwar Greek Literature), Typothito editions, Athens, 2003. Recent books, The Rhetoric of Utopia: Studies for the Transition to a New Avant-garde (five essays on the work of Andreas Empeirikos), Ypsilon/Books 2009, Practical Introduction to the Study of Modern Greek Literature: Terms, Methods, Theory, Metechmio, Athens, Greece, 2012. Her research interests are Greek and international modernist and avant-garde literature, Literary theory and criticism, Modern Greek theatre, women’s studies, translation studies.
