SHILO PREVITI

Shilo Virginia Previti was born near the marshy outskirts of noirish Atlantic City, NJ, part of Lenapehoking (Lənape Haki-nk), the land of the Lenni-Lenape, and raised in a cedar bog during a natural Pygmy Pines wildfire deep in the Pinelands reserve on unceded Munsee-Lenape lands. There, they completed a B.A. in Literature with a focus in literary studies and supplementary concentrations in Latin, Philosophy, and Writing at Stockton University in New Jersey, during which time they were able to travel to Greece for several projects, but they have recently moved away from the sea to complete an M.A. in English at the University of North Dakota in traditional Anishinaabewaki and Očeti šakowiŋ territories. In their research and writing, they are particularly interested in learning about post-colonial theory and pedagogy, ecocriticism, animal studies, disability studies, and queer and indigenous literatures—especially with respect to the relationships between people, lands, and labor.
