SHILO PREVITI

Shilo Virginia Previti was born near the marshy outskirts of noirish Atlantic City, NJ (U.S.), which is part of Lenapehoking (Lənape Haki-nk), the land of the Lenni-Lenape, and raised in a cedar bog during a natural Pygmy Pines wildfire deep in the Pinelands reserve on unceded Munsee-Lenape lands. There, they completed a B.A. in Literature with supplementary concentrations in Latin, Philosophy, and Writing at Stockton University, during which time they were able to travel to Greece for several theatre and research projects. They have recently moved away from the sea to complete an M.A. in English at the University of North Dakota, located on traditional Anishinaabewaki and Očeti šakowiŋ territories. In their research and writing, they are particularly interested in thinking about post-colonial theory and pedagogy, ecocriticism, animal studies, disability studies, genre theory, and queer and indigenous literatures—especially with respect to the relationships between people, lands, and labor. Their writing appears in JASAL, Floodwall, Stockpot, The Rectangle, here in Poeticanet, and elsewhere.
