LA SENSACIÓ DE L’OBLIT

Poc queda de l’excés d’equipatge
amb què vas marxar (records,
fressa, intimitat), com si tot fos
a l’abast d’uns ulls disciplents mentre evoquen
a mesura que els dibuixos els fan altres mans;
no n’hem parlat gaire.
no caldria oblidar rostres no paraules,
Olorar, si més no.
El fingiment. La fondària.

THE FEELING OF FORGETTING

Little is left of the excess baggage
you took when you left (memories,
commotion, intimacy), as if it were all
available to condescending eyes
while they evoke the intense smell
of another sea. That's how this
break-up drags on, weaker and weaker
as the pain of faking things mounts,
as gestures are made by new hands;
a slight feeling of goodbye, like the wind
calmly ploughing through the clouds,
content with the quiet of rooftops,
the habits of patios. What will I do
from now on if I can only feel icy
windowpanes and smell unripe odors?
If there is only scare light and candor?
We spoke
very little of love. If I could smell
the void blinding me, that metaphor
moving freely around the afternoon,
I wouldn't have to forget faces or words,
meditate on the strange weight of origins
and masks. To smell, at least.
Faking. Depth.
